We've all been in a situation in which fog, for the most part, has ruined our ability to see. Personally, I fog even if sitting still. So my question is this, what are your opinions on mesh goggles? I want to be able to play at my own pace, and not have to worry about fog ruining my perfect shot! I know there have been discussions involving poor quality BB's, but out of my 4 years of playing with this team I have only been shot in the general area of my eyes ONCE, and what are the chances the BB was poor quality? At a distance, even the worst BB could lose so much momentum that it wouldn't shatter on impact.. But still, there's a chance.. There are pros, and cons to wearing such goggles.. I really want to know your opinions, and what you honestly think? Would I be allowed to wear them, at my own risk? I thought I would stir things up around here

I would never use Mesh myself.. Now stamped Steel is a little different. All in the wording I guess. May be my play style but I seem to get shot in the goggles alot. I have been tossing around the same idea.. or just buy some Turbo Fans. I tend to fog more sitting still then when on the move. And is the biggest factor in taking the fun out of games alot of the time.

I mean the stamped steel, not mesh. Wording on my part.. I don't want to dish out the money for fans, when a pair of these goggles may just do the trick..

As someone who has worn them in the past I will say that while you dont have to worry about fogging the vision on them does take some getting used to. Its kind of like looking through a screen door or something.
As far as safety goes... I am still a little hesitant on using them or allowing them at our games. That being said depending on the game we host I have in the past allowed stampted steel goggles as long as they were the Bitter End brand and could prove it. They are used all over the world just like shooting glasses. Its just that most places do not trust them in the US.
And you would be surprised by how many players use crappy bbs that will shatter or splinter. Even some of the good brands will break apart pretty easily. Same for Bio bbs.
But I say if we do start allowing them more at our events that we have to keep a close eye on players trying to sneak in mesh goggles or cheap knock off brands of "stamped steel", and I mean everyone.
It also couldnt hurt to wear shooting glasses under them for extra safety. Or maybe make that a requirement?

I love grenades, that´s how it is. And they shatter, hell they do! So well, I wouldn´t like to get a cloud of bb fragment and dust with mesh on...
